Block storage
Converge Cloud offers 3 block storage types. Query their limits with cbs:DescribeDiskConfigQuota using InquiryType: INQUIRY_CBS_CONFIG.
Disk types
| Type | Minimum | Maximum | Step | Zones | Billing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CLOUD_PREMIUM | 50 GB | 16,000 GB | 1 GB | clz-1 · ncr-1 | Hourly · Prepaid |
| CLOUD_SSD | 100 GB | 16,000 GB | 1 GB | clz-1 · ncr-1 | Hourly · Prepaid |
| CLOUD_HSSD | 10 GB | 32,000 GB | 1 GB | ncr-1 | Hourly · Prepaid |
Sizes are in GB and adjust in 1 GB increments. CLOUD_HSSD is offered in ncr-1 only, and is the only type that accepts provisioned extra throughput — ExtraPerformanceRange reports 0 to 650 MB/s, set with cbs:ModifyDiskExtraPerformance.
System disks
The limits above are for DATA_DISK. Converge Cloud returns no rows for InquiryType: INQUIRY_CVM_CONFIG, so system disk limits cannot be read from the API. Every public image is 50 GB, and a system disk created alongside an instance takes DiskType and DiskSize from the SystemDisk block of cvm:RunInstances.
A system disk defaults to DeleteWithInstance: true and is therefore destroyed with its instance. It is not returned by cbs:DescribeDisks once the instance is terminated.
Notes
Block storage has no encryption option. The Encrypt parameter is rejected, DescribeDiskConfigQuota returns no encryption field, and Converge Cloud has no key management service. Encryption must be applied inside the guest operating system.
RecommendDiskSize can fall below the minimumCLOUD_SSD reports a recommended size of 70 GB against a minimum of 100 GB. The recommendation is not a valid size for that type; use MinDiskSize as the lower bound.
A disk can only attach to an instance in the same availability zone. CLOUD_HSSD exists only in ncr-1, so an instance in clz-1 cannot use it.
Snapshots are available (cbs:CreateSnapshot, DeleteSnapshots, ApplySnapshot) and can be shared with up to 50 accounts. The disk backup family is not available on Converge Cloud, and neither are the disk operation logs.
